Photos by Silvia Izquierdo

On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2014, hundreds of people took part in Complexo de Alemao favela’s Gay Pride Parade, held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The parade was a stand against discrimination and a demand for equal rights for the gay community. Associated Press photographer Silvia Izquierdo covered the parade and below is a gallery of her photographs from the event.
