Close Up: Photographer Jacquelyn Martin

Jacquelyn Martin joined The Associated Press as a staff photographer in 2006 and is based in Washington, DC. When she’s not shooting for the AP, Martin carves out time to work on personal projects – race, identity, immigration and women’s issues are common themes she explores.

Close Up: Photographer Jae C. Hong

Jae C. Hong is a staff photographer at the Associated Press currently based in Los Angeles. Hong first joined the AP as a photo intern and was hired full time to cover Las Vegas shortly after completing his summer internship.

David Goldman was born in New York City and received his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Minor in Spanish at the University of Rhode Island.

Close Up: Photographer Dave Martin

Dave Martin began his photographic career at the Lakeland Ledger in Lakeland, Fla., in 1982 before joining the AP as a staff photographer in Montgomery, AL., in 1983. In 2004, Martin was named the AP’s regional photo editor for the South.

Rebecca Blackwell joined the AP as West Africa photographer in 2007, before moving to the Mexico City bureau in 2014.

Associated Press photographer Robert F. Bukaty was born in Buffalo, N.Y. and studied photographic illustration at Rochester Institute of Technology. He joined the AP in 1993 and is currently a staff photographer based in Portland, Maine.

Wong Maye-E joined AP as a staff photographer in 2003. Based in Singapore, Maye-E’s work is centered around Sports reportage, entertainment, politics, and regional news stories.

Hatem Moussa joined The Associated Press as a photojournalist in 1998. Since then, the Gaza City-based Moussa has covered repeated rounds of Israeli-Palestinian fighting in Gaza, including the wars of 2008-2009, 2012 and 2014.

Julie Jacobson joined the AP in San Francisco as a staff photographer in 2001 and was based in New York for 8 years before transferring to Las Vegas in 2009. In 2014, she returned to New York City.

Matt Rourke joined The Associated Press as a photojournalist in 2006.  Based in Philadelphia, Rourke’s work encompasses general news, politics and sports. Coverage of note includes the Penn State University child abuse scandal, political seasons of 2008 and 2012 as well as the London Olympics.

Andy Wong joined the Associated Press as a photojournalist in 1998. Based in Beijing, China, Wong’s work includes coverage of headlining news stories, such as the Malaysian plane crash and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. His main focus is in China’s politics and its people’s daily life.
